Possible Ovulation

Well, I don’t know what to think.

I have been pretty spotty with temping this cycle. When I do, my sleep is so restless that my temps are all over the place. I have also been kind of lax with the OPKs (ovulation predictor kits). They were getting darker and then yesterday I only had one line again. I also haven’t really cared about checking my cervical mucous this cycle either. I didn’t test or temp today because K woke me up and wouldn’t let me do either.

I have to warn you. I am going to talk about private things now. If you don’t like that, don’t read further.

This morning while K and I were doing the deed, I felt a sharp pinch about where my right ovary is. It then felt kind of achy for about an hour afterwards. If it was me ovulating, we couldn’t have timed things better.

Another reason I think I ovulated is because it took no time for me to be ready for sex this morning. Usually it takes forever to get enough lubrication. Maybe I had plenty of fertile, egg-white cervical mucous.

I’m still not sure it was ovulation though. I need to wait and see if my temps are elevated the next few days to confirm it. In the meantime, I’ll get back to the OPKs and we’ll keep up with the intimacy every other day until I know for sure.

Waiting sucks.

7 Weeks Later

I can’t believe it’s been that long since I last posted. I’m sure you thought I fell off the face of the earth. I have been busy with school and life in general. And when I do find time to go on the interwebs, I am usually just checking facebook or email.

Well, the last cycle was a bust. The natural progesterone cream did not bring on my period. I ended up calling my doctor for a Provera prescription. The last cycle was 65 days long. Hopefully this next one goes much better.

For those of you who like to see charts, this one is last cycle’s.

Here’s this month’s.

As you can see, I’m only seven days in. Still have my period. I took 5 mg of Femara on cycle days 3 through 7. There isn’t much to report.

I do have a serious case of dry mouth though. It really sucks. I’m probably drinking about a gallon of water a day and can’t seem to get any relief. I hope it is just a side effect of the Femara and goes away in the next few days.

Glad to be back. I’ve missed doing this.

Charting Sucks Donkey Butt

I have been using Fertility Friend to track my basal body temperature. For those of you not familiar with BBT charting, you take your temperature every morning at the same time. After a night’s sleep, your temperature should be at it’s lowest. After you ovulate, your temperature rises about a half degree and stays that way for about 2 weeks. If you are not pregnant, it should drop after 2 weeks and then your period will start. If you are pregnant, it will stay elevated. The temperature rises due to the progesterone that’s produced after ovulation. The progesterone helps support pregnancy before the placenta takes over.

I could get into this more technically but if you want to learn more, read a book or look it up.

Anyways, I have been charting wince the beginning of the year. Not that I’ve seen anything good. The only time I saw a temperature shift after ovulation was way back in March when I miscarried.

Here is this month’s chart.

The red boxes on the bottom of the chart is days I have my period. It’s not really a period though because I am not really regular. As you can see, I have been bleeding on and off these last two weeks. It’s getting frustrated because I just want my body to work right. Stupid PCOS. Stupid hormones for not working right.

These are the two previous cycles.

As you can see, last month was a very short cycle, no chance of ovulation. The last chart shows my month-long bleed. I may have ovulated but because my temp taking was erratic. The green boxes are days when my body is showing signs that I might be at my most fertile. Obviously I didn’t get pregnant. I also started taking vitex about a week before my super long period ended. Usually my cycles are about 3 months long, so I think the vitex is working, sort of. It is supposed to take a few months to work and I do have shorter cycles now but I don’t know if that’s a fluke. I also am not the best at remembering to take it so that could be skewing how well it works.

I hope I didn’t bore you with this post. Those of you in the BBT know will be able to interprete my charts and say, yeah, they are truly effed up. Those of you who know nothing, consider yourselves lucky that you don’t torture yourselves with every temperature spike and dip. Maybe you learned a little bit.

Have a beautiful Friday.
